How much fire marshal training costs, in short

Fire marshal training with us is a fixed price per in-house group, delivered on-site at your premises: from £395 for up to 6 people, £495 for 7–12, and a tailored quote beyond 12. There's no VAT to add (we're not VAT-registered) and no hidden extras — that's the half-day course with certificates issued on the day.

Wondering how much fire marshal training costs? The short answer is a single fixed price for your whole group, not a fee per person. We're Goostrey Business Solutions, and we bring a half-day, on-site course to your premises, delivered by an ex-fire-service trainer, with certificates issued on the day.

This page breaks down exactly what you pay, what's included, and why we price the way we do. When you're ready, you can get a quote and we'll send a fixed price for your group size.

What's Included in the Price

The price you're quoted is the price you pay. One fixed figure covers the whole session, for every delegate in the group:

  • The full half-day course — around three to four hours, on-site at your premises.
  • Every delegate in the group — up to the size band you book, with no per-head add-on inside that band.
  • A certificate of completion for each delegate — issued on the day, not weeks later in the post.
  • The trainer coming to you — no travel or mileage charge, anywhere across Cheshire and the North West.

The course covers the fire marshal's role, spotting and reducing fire risks, safe evacuation, and which extinguisher suits which fire — the theory of matching the right extinguisher to the right type of fire. To be clear, the extinguisher element is theory only, not a live hands-on session.

Why We Price Per Group, Not Per Person

Most fire marshal training providers charge per head — the going rate elsewhere is roughly £50 to £150 per person. That works out fine for one or two people, but it climbs fast once you're training a team, and it's harder to budget for.

We do it the other way round. You pay one fixed price for the whole group, so for a typical team it works out cheaper and simpler — you know the full cost up front, whether you bring four people or eleven. There's nothing to recalculate if someone joins the session at the last minute, as long as you stay inside your size band.

What Changes the Price

Only one thing moves the price: the size of your group. There's no location loading, no seasonal pricing, and no per-person creep — just three clear bands.

Up to 6 peopleFrom £395
7 to 12 people£495
More than 12 peopleTailored quote

If your team is larger than 12, we'll put together a tailored quote — often more than one session, or a split across groups, so everyone gets the same quality of training. Not sure how many people to train in the first place? Our guide on how many fire marshals your business needs helps you land on the right number before you book.

No VAT, No Hidden Extras

There's no VAT to add to any of these prices, because GBS isn't VAT-registered — the figure you're quoted is the figure you pay. There are no booking fees, no certificate charges, and no travel costs bolted on afterwards.

The course is non-accredited by design, which is part of what keeps it affordable. It isn't tied to an external awarding body, so there's no exam fee and no certificate to wait on — and it still meets the competent-person training the Fire Safety Order expects, with your team covered on the day. If you'd like the background on the rules, our guides on whether you really need fire marshal training and the wider fire marshal training course cover the detail.
